1.What a Pyrguard report is
A documentary audit. We read the assessment you upload and comment, section by section, on whether it appears to meet the expectations of published standards and legislation relevant to the building type you selected — including completeness, sign-off and dating, internal consistency, and whether stated risk ratings look proportionate to the hazards described.
The report is intended to help a responsible person, client or reviewer interrogate an assessment they have received, and to help an assessor sense-check their own work before issue.
2.What it is not
- It is not a fire risk assessment and does not discharge any duty under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 or the Building Safety Act 2022.
- It is not a site inspection. We cannot see the premises, the fire doors, the alarm system, the compartmentation or the means of escape.
- It is not a certification, accreditation or third-party approval, and it is not endorsed by BAFE, BSI or any enforcing authority.
- It is not legal advice or engineering advice.
- It does not confirm that statements made in the assessment are factually true — only that the document does or does not address the matters expected of it.
3.Automated analysis and its limits
Reports are produced using automated document analysis, including artificial intelligence. Automated analysis can misread poorly scanned documents, miss context, misinterpret unusual formats and occasionally comment on something that is not present or overlook something that is.
Where our confidence in a point is limited, or where the document does not contain enough information to judge, the report marks the finding accordingly. Findings should be verified against the source document before they are relied on or put to an assessor.
Scanned or image-only documents are read using optical character recognition, which introduces further risk of misreading. Text-based PDFs give the most reliable results.
4.Standards and currency
We maintain a register of the standards and legislation referenced by the audit and monitor it for new editions. Each report records the editions applied and the date they were verified as current.
Standards change, and there can be a period between publication of a new edition and its inclusion here. Always confirm the current edition applicable to your premises.
5.Professional judgement remains yours
Nothing in a report replaces the judgement of a competent fire risk assessor or fire engineer. Decisions about remedial action, occupancy, evacuation strategy or enforcement should be taken with competent professional advice.
If a report and your assessor disagree, treat it as a prompt for discussion, not a determination. If a report identifies a possible life-safety issue, act on it promptly through a competent person rather than waiting.
6.Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on a report, including enforcement action, insurance outcomes, contractual disputes or remedial cost. Liability limits are set out in the Terms of Service. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
