Your fire risk assessment stays yours

Fire risk assessments name premises, describe vulnerabilities and list unresolved defects. We treat every upload as confidential by default. Nothing you upload is shared with another Pyrguard user, published, sold, or sent to anyone outside the processing needed to produce your own report.

Your documents are private to your account

Every uploaded assessment and every finding is stored against your user account in a private store. Database access rules reject any request for a record that does not belong to the signed-in account, so no other customer of Pyrguard can list, open or download your file.

The file is never made public

Uploads go into a private storage bucket with no public URL. There is no shared library, no public gallery, no directory of assessments and no link that can be forwarded to give someone else access.

Reading happens in your browser first

PDF and DOCX text extraction — including OCR of scanned documents — runs locally in your browser. Only the extracted text needed to produce your audit is sent to our servers, along with the file you chose to keep on record.

Processing is for your report only

The extracted text is passed to our AI processing provider solely to generate your audit, and the result is returned to your account. We do not sell your documents, publish them, share them with other users, or hand them to insurers, enforcing authorities or your assessor.

Encrypted in transit and at rest

All traffic to and from Pyrguard runs over HTTPS/TLS, and uploaded files and report data are stored encrypted at rest by our hosting platform.

Access is authenticated, every time

Reports can only be opened by a signed-in session belonging to the account that created them. Sign out and the report is unreachable until you sign back in.

Shared responsibility

What we do

  • Keep uploads in private, per-account storage with access rules enforced server-side.
  • Encrypt data in transit and at rest through our hosting platform.
  • Limit processing to producing the audit you requested.
  • Use payment processing that never exposes card details to this application.

What you control

  • Who you give your account credentials to — reports follow the account, not the person.
  • Whether to redact resident names or other personal data before uploading.
  • Who you forward an exported PDF to once it leaves the app.
  • Requesting removal of a document or your account by contacting us.

This page is maintained by Pyrguard to answer common security and confidentiality questions about the service. It describes the controls in place today; it is not an independent audit, certification or legal guarantee.
